From Himachal Pradesh, SECAS moved to Hoshiarpur district in Punjab. It was welcomed by Mr. Rahul Chaba, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur along with Mr. Gunbir Singh, Chairperson, WWF, Punjab.

The At Hoshiarpur, Mr. Avinash Rai Khanna, Member of Parliament, Hoshiarpur, Ms. Anindita Mitra, District Collector, Hoshiarpur, Mr. Sameer Verma, DSP, Hoshiarpur and Mr. Rajnish Kumar, Station Superintendent, Hoshiarpur, visited SECAS and appreciated the efforts of the team in spreading awareness among students on Climate Change and adaptation.

During its three-day halt at Hoshiarpur, SECAS received over 24,900 visitors. SECAS team received immense support from the District Science Coordinator, Hoshiarpur, in mobilizing schools to visit the exhibition train. The students also enjoyed participating in the activities of Kids Zone, Joy of Science Lab and at the Platform. SECAS team also conducted Teachers’ Orientation session for Primary and Secondary school teachers.

Hoshiarpur turned out to be a landmark station with SECAS crossing 2 lakh total visitors’ mark. Besides, it also crossed 55,000 students’ visit and 20,000 students’ participation in the Platform Activity current phase, till date. Additionally, Science Express cumulative of all the phases till date (Phase I-VIII) also crossed 94 lakh general visitors’ mark.

With this the halt of SECAS at Hoshiarpur came to a successful end, and the team once again packed up and made preparations for their departure to the next station - Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir.
