The next station in the journey of SECAS was Hospet in Karnataka. It was welcomed by Dr. Harsha U, ADMO, Mr. K. Krishna Chaitanya, IRTS, Area Officer, and Md. Umar Bani, Station Manager, Hospet, along with other Railway officials. Mr. K.B. Srinivas Reddy, Member (PAC), Indian Railways, Govt. of India, also visited SECAS and appreciated the efforts of the on-board team.

Master Tausif being felicitated for being the 20th lakh visitor to SECAS.

SECAS exhibition was held at Hospet, just for two days, yet an overwhelming response was received. More than 17,000 people including students from 35 different educational institutions visited SECAS at Hospet.

Apart from the exhibition, children also enthusiastically participated in the complementary activities of SECAS in JOS Lab, Kids Zone and on the Platform. Additionally, on the last day of the halt, SECAS team also conducted a Teachers Orientation session in which discussions on ‘Climate Change’, ‘Biodiversity and ‘Importance of Keystone Species’ was held.

Hospet also turned out to be a landmark station in the journey of SECAS, with SECAS crossing 20 lakh total visitors’ mark. Master Tausif, a student of 8th std. from Mahila Samaj School, Hospet, was felicitated by SECAS team for being the 20th lakh visitor to SECAS. Additionally, Science Express, cumulative of all its phases (Phase I-VIII), also crossed 1.53 crore visitors.

After a successful two-day halt at Hospet, SECAS team once again packed up and made preparations for their departure to the next station- Wadi in Karnataka.
