From Adoni, SECAS next moved to Kadiri, in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. It was welcomed by Shri Pille Raghunath Reddy, Hon’ble Minister I&PR, IT, NRI, Minority Welfare, Telugu Language, Andhra Pradesh, in the presence of other dignitaries. The distinguished guests also visited the exhibition train and appreciated the efforts of the team in spreading awareness amongst the people, especially students across India.

Kadiri turned out to be a landmark station in the journey of SECAS, with over 1.28 lakh people visiting the exhibition train in three days –the highest, for any station, in the current phase, till date. Besides, the second day of the exhibition turned out to be historic, as on this day Science Express, cumulative of all its phases (Phase I-VIII) crossed 1.50 crore total visitors’ mark and SECAS also crossed 17 lakh total visitors’ mark. The achievement of this rare feat added new enthusiasm to the team and motivated them for the journey ahead.

Apart from the exhibition, the students also excitedly participated in JOS Lab, Kids Zone and Platform Activity. On the last day, SECAS team also conducted a Teachers Orientation Session emphasizing on ‘Hands-on Approaches’ for teaching Science and Maths.

At Kadiri, SECAS team celebrated National Science Day (28 February) by conducting different activities which included discussions on ‘Importance of National Science Day’ and ‘Application of Science in day to day life’, in which students actively participated.

Teams from National Innovation Foundation, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science & Technology, Rural Agriculture Development Society, Scouts, Mandal Education Department and Railway Protection Force, extended their support in coordination of SECAS activities and crowd management at Kadiri.

After a successful three-day exhibition at Kadiri, the team once again packed up and made preparations for their journey to the next station –Vellore in Tamil Nadu.
