From West Bengal, SECAS moved to New Bongaigaon in Assam. It was welcomed by was welcomed by Mr. Radhey Raman, DRM, Rangiya Division, NFR. Later, Mr. Biswajit Pegu, IAS, District Collector, Bongaiogaon also visited SECAS and interacted with the on-board team.

Platform Activity

Altogether in two days, more than 20,000 people visited the exhibition train. It also included students from 60 educational institutions of New Bongaigaon and adjoining areas. SECAS team received support from National Innovation Foundation and Institute of Advance Science and Technology, Assam, in disseminating information about innovations and cutting-edge research in the field of Science and Technology to the visitors. The officials from District Education Department, New Bongaigaon, extended their support in mobilizing schools and colleges to visit SECAS.

The complementary activities of SECAS in JOS Lab, Kids Zone and at the Platform also received good participation. Additionally, on both days of SECAS halt, the team organized Teachers Orientation Session for Senior Secondary and Higher Secondary teachers, emphasizing on hands-on activities for teaching different concepts of Science and Maths. It was well appreciated by the participants.

At New Bongaigaon, SECAS crossed 6,000 participants in the Teachers Orientation Program and 75,000 participants’ mark in the Platform Activity. Besides, Science Express, cumulative of all its phases (phase I-VIII) crossed 1.42 crore total visitors.

On the last day of the halt, after the exhibition hours, the SECAS team once again packed up and made preparation for their departure to the next station – Mariani in Assam.
