SECAS team conducting Platform Activity

Due to the ongoing exams in schools and colleges, SECAS registered very few educational visits at Palakkad. However, on both days of the exhibition, a good number of general visitors, including children accompanied by their parents and guardians visited SECAS. Children also enthusiastically participated in JOS Lab, Kids Zone and Platform Activities.

On the first day of the halt at Palakkad, SECAS team celebrated ‘World Water Day’ (22 March) by organizing different activities in JOS Lab, Kids Zone and on-Platform. It included talks and discussions on ‘Water Scarcity’, ‘Importance of conserving Water’, ‘Water Audit’, ‘Water Relay’, ‘My Pledge to Conserve Water’, ‘Water Cycle Game’, and ‘My Idea on Water Conservation’. SECAS team also organized Quiz and Drawing and Painting competitions on the theme ‘Water– the element of Life on Earth’ for the students. In the end, the winners of these competitions were also felicitated by SECAS team with mementoes. In JOS Lab, a documentary movie on ‘Water Conservation’ was also shown. It was very much appreciated by the students and children.

Team from Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History, supported the activities of SECAS, by displaying posters on ‘Wetland Flora and Fauna Conservation’, at the platform.

After a successful two-day exhibition at Palakkad, SECAS team once again packed up and made preparations for their journey to the next station – Mangaluru in Karnataka.
