Mr. Dilip Surkar, briefing guests about the Journey & Achievements of Science Express

At Pragati Maidan, a large number of distinguished guests from MoEFCC, Department of Science & Technology (DST), Department of Biotechnology, Vigyan Prasar and British High Commission visited SECAS. On the last day of its halt, the members of the Advisory Committee constituted by DST, GoI, to review the project ‘Science Express’, also visited SECAS and interacted with the on-board team, appreciating their efforts and motivating them for the journey ahead. It was a privilege for the team to meet the distinguished scientists, professors and experts from different fields of Science and Technology.

SECAS received a good response from general visitors as well as students at Pragati Maidan. In spite of its distant location, in three days, students from over 55 educational institutions visited the exhibition train. Additionally, at Pragati Maidan, SECAS also crossed 4.5 lakh total visitor’s mark, for the current phase, till date.

Apart from the exhibition, the complementary activities in Kids Zone, JOS Lab and at the Platform also received good participation. The SECAS team received help from different ENVIS Centers for coordination of its activities. As part of the Platform Activity, a very entertaining yet informative ‘Puppet Show’ was organized for students to address current climatic condition, its impact and mitigation measures. It was very much appreciated by all.

After a successful three-day halt at Pragati Maidan, the SECAS team once again packed up and made preparations for their departure to the next station- Anajmandi in Rewari district of Haryana.
