Model making session in Kids Zone

An outstanding response was received from students as well as general visitors at Rajahmundry, with over 69,000 people visiting the exhibition train in three days. On the last two days of the halt, owing to huge rush of visitors, the exhibition hours were extended from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. On the last day, students from 155 different educational institutions visited SECAS –the highest number in a single day, in the current phase.

Apart from the exhibition, the students enthusiastically participated in JOS Lab, Kids Zone and Platform Activity. SECAS team conducted Outreach Activity at Mahaveer School, Rajahmundry, in which more than 200 students participated. Besides, a Teachers Orientation session was also organized for a group of teachers from DIET, Bommuru. It was well appreciated by all the participants. On 15 February, the team celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Galileo Galilei by conducting different activities at the platform which included a discussion on ‘Life and Contributions of Galileo’ with the students. It was followed by a session on ‘The Story of a Telescope’, in which the students came to know the history of telescope and also learnt to handle it.

At Rajahmundry, Science Express, cumulative of all the phases (Phase I-VIII), crossed 1.47 corer total visitors’ mark. The onboard team celebrated it with full enthusiasm.

After a successful three-day halt at Rajahmundry, the team once again packed up and made preparations for their journey to the next station –Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.
