From Pathankot, SECAS moved to Saharanpur. It was welcomed by Lt. Col. Deepak Saxena, Additional Chief Medical Superintendent, Saharanpur. Mr. Rajit Shrivastava, U.P. Pollution Control Board, Mr. Radhakrishna Tiwari, DIOS and Mr. Jawaher Singh, Senior Station Superintendent, Saharanpur, were also present on the occasion. They visited the exhibition and appreciated the efforts of the team.

Platform Activity

It was for the first time that Science Express, since its launch visited Saharanpur and an overwhelming response was received from the students and general visitors. On both the days of exhibition, long queue of students as well as general visitors was seen at the platform throughout the day. On the last day of the exhibition, SECAS registered a total of 32, 196 visitors –the highest number in a single day, in the current phase, till date.

The complementary activities of SECAS in Kids Zone and JOS Lab also received very good participation with Platform Activity receiving over 3,500 students’ participation. On the last day of the exhibition, the SECAS team also conducted an Outreach Activity at Green Field Academy, Saharanpur. Additionally, for a group of higher secondary and undergraduate teachers, the SECAS team organized an orientation session in which a discussion on ‘Importance of Scientific Temperament, Inquisitiveness and Observation skills in General Science and Environmental Education’ was organized. The participating teachers were also oriented on ‘Understanding Education Pedagogy’ through different case studies. 

At Saharanpur, SECAS crossed 3.5 lakh total visitors and 95,000 students’ mark for the current phase, till date.

At the end of the second day exhibition, the SECAS team once again packed up and made preparations for their departure to the next station- Haridwar in Uttarakhand.
