Platform Activity

The first day of the exhibition at Suratgarh was special as Science Express completed its eighth year of launch and it was also the 106th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Homi Bhabha. The team conducted special activities like Quiz, Poster Making, Slogan Writing and Story Telling on the theme ‘Climate Change and its Mitigation’ for students at the platform. Besides, the students also pledged to contribute towards Climate Action by giving their handprints and sharing their action for commitment towards sustainability. SECAS team also organized a skit titled “Duniya Nayee Purani…Pani, Paani, Paani!” on the theme ‘Need for Water Conservation’. It was very much appreciated by all. A special talk on the ‘Life and Contributions of Dr. Homi Bhabha’ was delivered by SECAS team member to the students.

During its three-day halt at Suratgarh, SECAS received more than 44,000 visitors –the highest for any station, till date. Besides, on the second day of the halt, SECAS crossed 1 lakh total visitors’ mark for the current phase, till date. Additionally, on the last day of the exhibition, SECAS received over 22,700 total visitors during the day - the highest in a single day, in the current phase, till date.

The complementary activities of SECAS in Kids Zone, JOS Lab and at the Platform also received a very encouraging response at Suratgarh.

At the end of the third day of the exhibition, the SECAS once again packed up and made preparation for their departure the next station- Patiala in Punjab.
