During its four-day halt at Tirunelveli, an overwhelming response was received. Over 40,000 people including more than 21,000 students from 210 different educational institutions visited SECAS.

Apart from the exhibition, the complementary activities of SECAS in JOS Lab, Kids Zone and Platform Activities also received good participation. SECAS team conducted Teachers Orientation sessions for two groups of teachers highlighting the importance of Activity Based Learning in Science and Mathematics. Some of the models like ‘Balancing Butterfly, ‘Magnetic Levitation’, ‘Human Circulatory System’ etc. were demonstrated. Additionally, talks on ‘Career Opportunities in field of Science and Mathematics’, ‘Education Pedagogy’ and ‘Climate Change Sustainability’ were also held. It was very much appreciated by the participants.

At Tirunelveli, SECAS crossed 19 lakh total visitors’ mark and 1,000 teachers’ participation in Teachers Orientation Programme. Besides, Science Express, cumulative of all the phases (Phase I-VIII) also crossed 1.52 crore total visitors.

Team from ENVIS centre, Tirunelveli & Chennai extended their support in coordination of SECAS. Besides, a group of postgraduate students and research scholars extended their support to SECAS team in communicating with the visitors in the local language.

After a successful four-day exhibition at Tirunelveli, the team once again packed up and made preparations for their journey to the next station – Changanasseri in Kerala.
