From Koraput, SECAS next moved to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. It was welcomed by Ms. Chandralekha Mukherjee, DRM, Waltair Division, along with other officials from the Railways. Mr. R. Gopala Krishna Rao, IPS, Superintendent of Police, CBI, Visakhapatnam, also visited SECAS along with his family and a group of students and appreciated the efforts of the on-board team.

Platform Activity

During the three-day halt at Visakhapatnam, SECAS received more than 41,000 people including students from 140 different educational institutions. A good number of general visitors also came to see the exhibition train.

Apart from the exhibition, students and children enthusiastically participated in Kids Zone, JOS Lab and Platform Activity. On the last of the exhibition, Platform Activity registered a total of 3,579 students’ participation – the highest in a single day, in the current phase. Besides, SECAS team also conducted Outreach Activity at 8 different schools of Visakhapatnam, in which around 2,000 students’ participated.

At Visakhapatnam, SECAS crossed 13 lakh total visitors’ mark and Outreach Activity crossed 20,000 students’ participation, in the current phase. Besides, Science Express, cumulative of all the phases (Phase I-VIII), crossed 1.46 corer total visitors’ mark and visit by students from 35,000 educational institutions. These achievements were celebrated by the team.

After a successful three-day halt at Visakhapatnam, the team once again packed up and made preparations for their journey to the next station – Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh.
