From Hospet, SECAS next moved to Wadi in Karnataka. It was welcomed by Mr. Vipin Pawar, Deputy General Manager, Central Railways. Mr. I. Bhaskar Rao, Assistant Commercial Manager, Solapur Division and Mr. Bhagwat Sheth, Municipal President, Wadi, were also present on the occasion.

Children in Kids Zone

During its three day halt at Wadi, SECAS received an overwhelming response. On all the three exhibition days, huge rush of visitors was seen at the platform. SECAS registered more than 27,000 people including children accompanied by their parents and guardians. Mr. Srikanth V. Hosur, Chief Forest Conservator, Gulbarga, also visited SECAS and interacted with the on-board team.

The complementary activities of SECAS in JOS Lab, Kids Zone and on-Platform also received enthusiastic response from the students and children at Wadi. Moreover, SECAS team conducted two Teachers’ Orientation sessions in which different issues of Climate Change, Nature Conservation and Non-Formal Science Teaching & Learning were discussed. It was well appreciated by the participating teachers.

On the second day of the exhibition at Wadi, SECAS team organized an Outreach Activity at D.A.V. Public School, in which over 400 students participated. In this, discussions on ‘Balance in Nature’ and ‘Climate Change and Actions needed’ were held with the students. In this, the game ‘Rope and Ladder’, and activities like ‘Climate Captain’ and ‘How much my Habits Cost’, were also thoroughly enjoyed by students. Additionally, the team also demonstrated different concepts of science like Surface Tension, Stroop Effect, Laws of Motion, Momentum, Energy, Probability, Muscular Contraction, Food Pyramid etc. using different models and activities.

After a successful three-day halt at Wadi, SECAS team once again packed up and made preparations for their departure to the next station- Nizamabad in Telangana.
