From Agartala, SECAS II next moved to Badarpur in Assam. It was welcomed by Prof. D. C. Nath, Vice-Chancellor, Assam University, Silchar, Assam along with Mr. Amit Singh, Area Officer, NFR, Badarpur. Mr. Gaurav Upadhyay, (IPS), SP, Karimganj and Ms. Leena Doley, APS, Addl. SP, Karimganj, visited SECAS II along with their families at Badarpur and appreciated the efforts of the on-board team.
SECAS II team received an overwhelming response at Badarpur. During the three day halt, it received over 40,000 visitors. Although, on the first two days, there were very few school and college visits due to public holidays. However, on the last day, students from 43 different educational institutions visited the exhibition train- the second highest in a single day in the current phase. Apart from the exhibition, the complementary activities of SECAS II in JOS Lab, Kids Zone and Platform Activity, also registered good participation.
Badarpur turned out to be yet another millstone stations in the journey of SECAS II, as on the second day of the exhibition, it crossed 5 lakh total visitors’ mark. Ms. Ms. Zabina Chaudhary, a student of std. 6 was felicitated by the team for being the fifth lakh visitor to SECAS II. Additionally, Kids Zone also crossed 25,000 children’s participation. The achievements added new zeal to the on-board team, motivating them for the journey ahead.
A team from National Innovation Foundation (NIF) extended their support in coordination of SECAS II activities at Badarpur.
After a successful three day halt at Badarpur, the SECAS II team once again packed up and made preparations for their departure to the next station – North Lakhimpur in Assam.
