From Marwar, SECAS II next moved to Balotra in Rajasthan. It was welcomed by Shri Bhagirath Ram, Sub-Divisional Officer, Balotra along with Shri Om Prakash Charan, Station Superintendent and Shri Natharam Choudhary, Station Manager, Balotra. They interacted and appreciated the efforts of the on-board team.
SECAS II exhibition was scheduled for three days at Balotra. It received an overwhelming response from students, general visitors as well as children from different age groups. Altogether in three days, over 67,000 visitors including more than 12,500 students from 117 different educational institutions visited SECAS II. At Balotra, students and children enthusiastically participated in complementary activities of JOS Lab, Kids Zone and Platform Activity.
SECAS II team conducted an Outreach Activity at Kajyalay Rajkiya Higher Secondary School, Balotra on last day of its halt with more than 1,000 student’s participating in it. The team began the session by discussing with students about journey of Science Express and coach contents of SECAS II. Additionally, they conducted a session on ‘Science Show’ and demonstrated different models, experiments and activities based on concepts of science and mathematics like Acid-Base Neutralization Reaction, Sound Propagation, IR, Clap Bulb, Super absorbent, Centripetal and Centrifugal Forces, Pressure, Centre of Gravity, Muscle Contraction , ‘Brahma’s Tower’, ‘Pythagoras Theorem’ and ‘Algebraic Equations’. It was enjoyed and appreciated by the participating students.
At Balotra, SECAS II crossed number of landmarks. It crossed 21.5 lakh total visitations, 65,000 student’s participation in JOS Lab, 6,000 schools and colleges visitations and 12,000 student’s participation in Outreach Activity- in current phase of its journey.
With this, the halt of SECAS II at Balotra came to an end, and the team packed up and made preparations for their departure to the next station – Deesa in Gujarat.
