From Bhuj, SECAS II next moved to Bhaktinagar.It was welcomed by Shri P. B. Ninawe, Divisional Railway Manager, Rajkot Division, along with Shri Hemang R Rawal, 2nd Additional District Judge, Rajkot. The distinguished guests visited the exhibition train and appreciated the efforts of the on-board team. On the last day of halt at Bhaktinagar, Shri S. S. Yadav, ADRM, Rajkot Division, Western Railway visited SECAS II.
At Bhaktinagar, SECAS II was scheduled for four days. It received great response from students, general visitors and children of different age groups. Altogether in four days, more than 20,000 students from 161 different educational institutions visited SECAS II. Along with the exhibition, the complementary activities in JOS Lab, Kids Zone and at the Platform registered good number of participants.
At Bhaktinagar, SECAS II team conducted Outreach Activity at Shree Navchetan School, Rajkot for more than 200 students on third day of halt. The team commenced the session by briefing the students about SECAS and its coach contents.Moreover, the team demonstrated different models, experiments and activities based on fundamental concepts of science and mathematics. The session was enjoyed and appreciated by the participating students.
SECAS II team conducted Teachers Orientation session for more than 200 primary school teachers on all four days halt at Bhaktinagar. In these sessions, the SECAS II team organized a talk on ‘Hands-on Methodology and Education Pedagogy’ and emphasized upon teaching through models and experiments. Moreover, the team demonstrated various models based on fundamental concepts of science and mathematics and can be easily understood by the students. The sessions were praised and appreciated by the participants.
At Bhaktinagar, the team received voluntary support from the members of Bharat Scouts and Guides in coordination of the Platform Activity.
At Bhaktinagar, SECAS II crossed 5.5 lakh students’ visitations.Additionally, by crossing 23.5 lakh total visitors mark, SECAS II recorded the second highest number of visitors, amongst all the phases of Science Express (Phase I-IX), since 2007.
With this, the four-day halt of SECAS II at Bhaktinagar came to an end, and the team packed up and made preparations for their departure to the next station – Gondal in Gujarat.
