From Bhaktinagar, SECAS II next moved to Gondal.It was welcomed by Shri Rakesh Rajpurohit, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Bhavnagar Division. Shri J. N. Vyas, 6th Additional District Judge, Gondal, Shri M.P. Purohit, 8th Additional District Sr. Judge, Shri Prashant N. Raval, PRI, Sr. Civil Judge, ACJM, Shri S. G. Chanchu, Additional Civil Judge, Shri Tanmay G. Shukla, Principal Civil Judge & JMFC, Lodhika, Rajkot, graced the occasion. The noted dignitaries interacted and appreciated the efforts of the team.

On second day of halt at Gondal, Shri Narendra Kumar M. Raval, Retired Sr. Asst. Public Prosecutor, Ahmedabad, along with his son Shri Prashant N. Raval, PRI. Sr. Civil Judge & ACJM, Gondal and other family members also visited the exhibition train.

During four-day halt at Gondal, SECAS II received enthusiastic response from students, general visitors as well as children of different age groups. Altogether in four days, more than 17,000 students from 171 different educational institutions visited SECAS II. The complementary activities of SECAS II in JOS Lab and Kids Zone registered great participation.

SECAS II team conducted Outreach Activityon third and fourth day of halt at Gondal at BAPS residential school and Govt. Primary school, Gondal for more than 950 students. In these activities, the team began the sessions by briefing the students about Science Express and its Journey and held discussions on ‘Positive Actions’ and how minor changes in our daily life can help in saving the environment. Additionally, the SECAS II team demonstrated different models and activities based on fundamental concepts of science and mathematics to the participating students.

At Gondal, SECAS II team conducted Teachers Orientation session for a group of Primary school teachers on second day of halt. The team held a special discussion on ‘National Curriculum Framework’ and ‘Vedic Maths and its Applications’. The team also highlighted the importance of ‘Hands-on Approach for Teaching Science and Mathematics’ and demonstrated different models and activities based on basic concepts of science and mathematics. The session was appreciated by all.

Bhavnagar Railway Division and Members of Gondal Gymkhana & Recreation Club extended their voluntary support for visitors ofSECAS II.

At Gondal, SECAS II crossed many milestones.It crossed 24.23 lakh total visitations, 2,000 teacher’s participation in Teacher Orientation Programme, 75,000 children’s participation in the Kids Zone. Additionally, Science Express, cumulative of all its phases (Phase I-IX) crossed 18 million visitors’ mark.

With this, the four-day halt of SECAS II at Gondal came to an end, and the team packed up and made preparations for their departure their last station – Khodiyar in Gujarat.
