From Delhi Cantt., SECAS II next moved to Hisar in Haryana. It was welcomed by Mr. Vijay Kumar Bhavikatti, (IAS), Additional District Collector, Hisar. Shri. Baljit Singh Sherawat, District Education Officer, Hisar, Smt. Santosh Hooda, Dist. Elementary Education Officer, Smt. Poornima Gupta, District Science Supervisor and Shri. Devender singh, Dy. Dist. Education Officer, Hisar, were also present on the occasion.

Prof. R. C. Yadav, Director, Centre for Plant Biotechnology, and Dr. R. S. Hooda, Chief Scientist, Haryana Space Application Centre, visited SECAS II and also shared their experiences with the team.

SECAS II received a very good response from students as well as general visitors at Hisar. On all four days of the exhibition, long queue of students and visitors was seen at the platform. On the second last day, SECAS II registered students from over 100 schools and colleges- the highest in the current phase in single day.The complementary activities of SECAS II in JOS Lab, Kids Zone and Platform Activity, also registered good participation. The Outreach Activity and Teachers’ Orientation session for the current phase also started at Hisar.

SECAS II team visited Haryana Space Application Centre (HARSAC), Hisar and gave an extension lecture on ‘Climate Change and Journey of Science Express’. Several distinguish personalities like Dr. R. S. Hooda, Chief Scientist, HARSAC, Hisar, Sr. Scientist, Principals of different schools, District Education Officer, officials and professors from Haryana Agriculture University were present.

Hisar also turned out to be a landmark station as on the last day of the halt, SECAS II crossed 50,000 visitors’ mark.

After a successful 4 day halt at Hisar, SECAS team packed up and started their journey to the next station -Dhuri in Punjab.
