From Akola, SECAS II next moved to Murtajapur in Maharashtra. It was welcomed by Shri Sanjay Shamrao Dhotre, MP, Akola and Shri Harish Marotiappa Pimple, MLA, Murtajapur. Shri Vijay Sagari, ADC, Akola also visited SECAS II. The dignitaries appreciated the efforts of the team and GoI for spreading awareness on climate change through Science Express.
SECAS II received great response Murtajapur. During its one day halt, more than 9,000 students from 90 educational institutions visited SECAS II. Along with seeing the exhibition train, the students also enthusiastically participated in JOS lab, Kids Zone and Platform Activity
At Murtajapur, SECAS II team conducted a Teacher Orientation session for a group of Primary School teachers. The team orientated the participating teachers for hands-on and non-formal methods of teaching and demonstrated different models like ‘Balancing Butterfly’, ‘Pencil at Finger Tip’, ‘Wave Model’, ‘Double helical DNA Structure’, ‘Newton’s Cradle’, ‘Phases of Moon’ based on some of the fundamental concepts of science. Besides, the team also held a discussion on ‘DSTs INSPIRE and KVPY’ fellowships.
At Murtajapur, SECAS II crossed 19.5 lakh total visitors mark in the current phase of its journey.
With this, the one-day halt of SECAS II at Murtajapur came to an end, and the team packed up and made preparations for their departure to the next station – Amravati in Maharashtra.
