From Mumbai, SECAS II next moved to Nasik. SECAS II was welcomed by Shri R K Yadav, DRM, Central Railway. He visited the exhibition train and interacted and appreciated the efforts of the SECAS II team.
SECAS II exhibition was scheduled for two days at Nasik. It received enthusiastic response from students, visitors and children of different age group at Nasik. A group of differently- abled children visited SECAS II and the on-board team took special care in explaining the exhibits to them with the help of their teachers. Altogether in two days, more than 15,000 students from 154 different educational institutions visited SECAS II.
SECAS II conducted Teachers Orientation session for a group of primary school teachers at Nasik. The team conducted session on ‘Non-Conventional Methods of Teaching’ and oriented them for hand-on methods of teaching science and mathematics where they made models like ‘3-d Shapes’, ‘Balancing Pencil’, ‘Yo-Yo’ ‘Color Filters’ . The team also demonstrated different models like ‘Newton’s Cradle’, ‘Boyle’s Law’, ‘Brahma’s Tower’ and ‘DNA’ for easy understanding of difficult scientific concepts.
At Nasik, SECAS II crossed 18 lakh total visitors mark-in the current phase.
With this, the successful halt of SECAS II at Nasik came to a successful end and the team packed up and made preparations for their departure to the next station – Dhule in Maharashtra.
