From Samastipur, SECAS II next moved to Salmari in Bihar. It was welcomed by Mr. Mithilesh Mishra, District Collector, Katihar along with Mr. Mukesh Pandey, DDC, Katihar and Mr. Firoz Akhtar, SDO, Barsoi. Mr. O. P. Nebhanani, Chief Signal & Telecommunication Manager, NFR, Maligaon & Mr. U.S. Yadav, Divisional Railway Manager, Katihar Division, NFR, also visited SECAS II along with other Railway officials and appreciated the efforts of the team.

The arrival of SECAS II at Salmari was delayed by 8 hours. It was scheduled to arrive at 4:00 am, instead it reached at 12:00 pm. Hence, the visitors had to face problems as they were waiting for the exhibition since morning. As soon as the SECAS II arrived, the team members immediately got ready and opened the exhibition for public.

On the first day of the exhibition at Salmari, SECAS II team celebrated the ‘World Health Day’ by conducting different activities on the platform and in JOS Lab. Based on the 2017 theme ‘Depression – Let’s Talk’, discussion on ‘BMI Calculation’, ‘Power of Mind’, ‘Healthy Lifestyle’ etc. were conducted. Besides, an Essay and Quiz competition was also held for the students at the platform, and the winners were felicitated by the SECAS II team. In the JOS Lab, a short documentary on ‘Health Issues and Depression’ was also showcased to the students. It was very much appreciated by all.

SECAS II received a very enthusiastic response at Salmari. Altogether in two days, over 24,000 people including students from 69 different educational institutions visited the exhibition train. The complementary activities of SECAS II in JOS Lab, Kids Zone and Platform Activity registered good participation. A team from National Innovation Foundation (NIF) extended their support in conducting Platform Activity. On the last day of the halt, SECAS II crossed 45,000 student’s visitations.

After a successful two day halt at Salmari, the team once again packed up and made preparations for their departure to the next station – Fakiragram in Assam.
